Emmett is a little hidden gem about 30 miles northwest of Boise on Highway 16 with mountains to the northwest and agricultural plains to the west. If you are looking for a small-town Emmett is the town for you. Emmett is known for its cherry orchards that produce millions of cherries each year, and every year the town hosts a four-day Cherry Festival that brings people from all around the valley. Black Canyon Reservoir is where to be for fishing, boating or other major recreational activities with 12 miles of shoreline for swimming and camping sites available if you are wanting to stay overnight.
